A few comments if using here in the US. This soldering iron requires 220-240v to work properly. Simply using a plug adapter and inserting it into a US 120v outlet will only give you 7.5w on low and 12.5w on high. As a safety feature, the button on the soldering iron must be held in to use/maintain the higher wattage.

It comes with a 2-prong round Euro plug (plug end is rated to 2.5a) and must be adapted to work (euro adapters available online). Some customers have made their own pigtail adapters from old appliance cords...6-15p or 6-20p plug cord is fine depending on your available 240v outlets.
