Note - BMW has introduced
several specialty tools recently that use 14x18mm attachments to
a torque wrench. One special tool (see photo above-click to
enlarge) is used to tighten the vanos adjusters to the camshafts
on a BMW B48 (4-cyl) engine. Unfortunately, these adjusters
are on the rear of engine creating space constraints with the
firewall. BMW suggests using a Stahlwille ST730N/20 torque
wrench with the tool but it does not possess angle torque
capability. The Facom E.316 series offer both torque and
angle readings without having to step up to Stahlwille's
considerably more expensive 713R series torque wrench.
