I recommend 3/8" drive tools for torque values 20-60 ft lbs. The limiting factor of this range of usefulness is the size of the ratchet (Facom's J161L long handle ratchet will give the user additional leverage to get to around 100 ft lbs).

Facom palm control ratchets are the finest in the world......their compact circular heads and 5 degree increments (72 teeth, 17 in mesh at all times) are very effective, even when working on difficult to reach fasteners.

3/8" Drive Sockets & Sets
All 3/8" drive sockets are OGV profile, transmitting torque to the fastener flats rather than the corners to reduce wear. In fact, with all Facom fine tooth ratchets, I recommend the use of 6 point sockets. These are less likely to round fasteners and are capable of higher torque. (Note: the exception would be with certain automotive and aerospace 12 point fasteners which require 12 point sockets)

Facom CDX - Super 3/8" Drive
Facom offers 2 different 3/8" drive systems - their standard "Junior" series (square drive) featured above and their high performance "Super 3/8 Drive System" (splined drive). The latter is unique to Facom, offering the compactness of 3/8" drive and the ISO strength of 1/2" drive. Facom splined drive sockets will still work with square drive ratchets and torque wrenches and adapters (see below) are available to use square drive specialty sockets with Facom's excellent SJ171 locking ratchet.
Super 3/8" drive sockets are technically capable of torque to 350 ft lbs. Unfortunately, the sale of CDX drive systems here in the US is limited to the 1 kit listed below plus the Ferrari collector set.

All of the tools in this kit (excluding the 13 bits) have an attractive black nickel finish, available only through this limited production set. Sockets and ratchet are Facom's exclusive CDX ("Super 3/8") splined design...compact in size for accessibility but with the same strength as their 1/2" drive tools.
