Refresh of Wife's Parking Garage
Front of my wife's 12x20' parking garage....this space will house many of the garage utilities with storage for her books, teaching supplies and bulk household items.
Wooden shelves have been removed. A RaceDeck floor gives a bright fresh appearance.
Clutter on the shelves and in the pull out drawers can be quickly hidden.......
.......behind a pair of pull-down tambour doors.
There's still a lot of work to be done in this garage.... lighting, trimwork and an update of the heating system.
Garage Electric
Shop power is on it own meters and fed below ground from the street. Distribution throughout the garage is through 2 single phase and 1 three phase subpanel. Emergency power will be via natural gas or SOFC generator (a 7000w Honda generator is currently in place for backup).
Shop wiring is in 12 gauge or larger (no 15a circuits here). I try to avoid surface mounting wire but if necessary, its always neater in conduit.
The IP addressable timer is for the waterfall pumps and landscape lighting. (Note - the 4" box to the far left is for a future EV charging station)
A - Meter for Garage #1 (24 breaker)
B - Meter for Garages #2 and #3 (30 breaker)
C - 100a Automatic Transfer Switch (for generator)
D - Pair of RG6 cable feeds & pair of Cat5E for phone
Who says solar panels have to be ugly? The garage roof may get get a solar slate makeover for a little help with the monthly utility bill.
View from Inside the Walls - wall jacks receive multiple feeds of RG6 (cable) & Cat5E (phone & network) along with RGB cable for quality video.
View from Inside the Room - all cables will be properly terminated with modular jacks & wall plates.
Fiber, coax and cat 5 all come together in a small wall mount enclosure for distribution throughout the garage.
Sensitive electronics are protected with proper power filtering, surge protection and voltage regulation.
Temporary power distribution - great for any tool, equipment or outdoor entertainment needs. Meter at the top of the rack displays voltages across each of the power legs (X/Y/Z)

110v satellite power distribution module
Garage Heat
There are 4 zones of heat for the garage including separate radiant and forced hot air zones for the dyno workshop.
