Only 2,000 of these were produced worldwide with 500 coming to the North American market. Each kit was individually numbered.

All of the tools in this kit (excluding the 13 bits) have an attractive black nickel finish, available only through this limited production set. Sockets and ratchet are Facom's exclusive CDX ("Super 3/8") splined design...compact in size for accessibility but with the same strength as their 1/2" drive tools.

If you're looking for a truly unique example of factory authorized Ferrari memorabilia, this is a nice set to buy.

Background

Facom had a 3 year partnership with Ferrari between 2001-2003. This was during the glory days with Michael Schumacher when he and Ferrari won 5 consecutive titles between 2000-2004. During this period, Facom produced 3 limited edition collector tool sets with the Scuderia Ferrari logo. I purchased 100 of this particular set (#2) in 2003. I suspended sale of the set for 10 years and recently decided to release the remaining inventory.

Most of these sets that I see on auction sites have cosmetic issues, are missing the original black nickel plated tools, and NONE have the original English literature. And the "closing prices" on these auction sets is often greater than what these factory new sets are selling for.

Each case is individually numbered and comes with a protective storage sack and gift box.

Sets are new in sealed boxes. Serial numbers (1 - 2000) are unknown until I open the box for inspection. Facom was distributed by SK Hand Tools back in 2003 when these were purchased.

This set was purchased by the owner of a Ferrari 355.

Sets are inspected for damage and contents and to ensure that the tools are secure in the foam tray. The larger tools (not the bits) may be removed from the tray and packed separately for cross country shipments.

A loose tool can damage the foam tray. The ratchet and the extension are the 2 items likely to come loose from rough handling by the freight carrier.

Aluminum case has a slot for ipad or document storage.

As a collector set, the original manufacturer's literature is an important part of your purchase. I was able to acquire 100 brochures (in English) for this set. A brochure is provided with each purchase.
